Living for Today — Planning for Tomorrow
Housing and Homebuyer
Programs provide information on finding and financing affordable housing, along with how to create healthy homes, including remodeling and repair issues to build stronger, safer homes.
Healthy Homes
Research has shown that housing conditions are connected to the health of families who live in the home. For example, mold, cockroaches, dust mite pests, and chemicals may cause attacks in those who suffer from asthma or allergies. Learning and practicing a few simple principles for creating a healthy home can make big difference in your family's health, especially for children and the elderly, who may spend up to 90% of their time inside.
Home Buyer Education
Mississippi State University Extension Service Family Resource Management area agents offer a Home Buyer Education Course that meets the requirements for the first time home buyer applicants applying for USDA Rural Development Loans. The cost of the program is $40 per individual or married couple. Complete the form and return as directed on the form.
